When
more than 25 years back kumar started with idea of starting
a business in landscaoing he was looked at with disbelief.
Not
withstanding the pessimism he went ahead and went on to create
some of the most beautiful gardens in homes, factories and
traffic islands.
He
has sucessfully turned hardcore industrial factories into
peaceful and inspiring environment for workars.
Apart
from The Haji Ali Traffic Island he has also created the triangular
traffic island and footpaths at Nariman point opposite the
Oberoi Towers. Others include the traffic islands at Churchgate
at Asiatic, one at Tardeo and the Dr. Ambedkar Garden. His
traffic Islands for several years have won best prizes in
all categories.
Kumar
has designed several factor and industrial gardens for Britannia,
Ceat, Paper products, Camlin, Wockhardt, Asiatic Departments
Stores, ITC limited, Bharat petroleum, Hotel Orchid, Government
of Daman, ONGC, Shipping Corporation of India, Hindustan lever,
Indian Oil, CIDCO, BMC, Hotel Centaur, Grindlayas Bank, amongst
more than hundred others.
He
created Bal Thackeray's Ramadham, the old people's home at
Khopli, including his personal bungalow.
He
has also designed and created gardens for the Sultanate of
Oman. Hailed as one of Mumbai's Foremost landscape designer,
his specializations in traffic islands, gardens for hotels
and Industrial factories has changed the face of landscaping.
He has constantly encouraged the need for green spaces in
the city.
